Mikayla Monnie

Hello! I'm Mikayla! I took my first American Sign Language class at the University of Oregon. That is where I fell in love with the language and culture of the Deaf community. I decided to transfer to Utah Valley University to pursue a career in ASL and Deaf Studies. I've spent the last two years at UVU majoring in Deaf Studies with an emphasis in interpreting. My love for Deaf culture and ASL continues to grow as I take classes and attend workshops and conferences. I am in my last semester at UVU and am doing my internship. I have two internships, one with Utah Schools for the Deaf and the other with the LDS Conference Center! I am grateful for both of these opportunities! I am learning so much and my skills are improving each day!
